BASIC (Brain and Spinal Injury Charity) is a registered charity affiliated to the Greater Manchester Neuroscience’s Centre at Hope Hospital, Salford. Our objective is to support patients (both adults and children), their carers and families who are recovering from traumatic brain injury and neurological conditions affecting the brain. This includes brain haemorrhage, brain tumour, stroke, MS, head/spinal injury and brain cancer. Since it was founded in 1986 BASIC has made great progress. We provide information, practical advice, practical help and support, research and medical equipment, to support patients, families and carers of people affected by neurological conditions and we were proud to open our Neurocare Centre in 1999.
BASIC is affiliated to the Greater Manchester Clinical Neuroscience Centre, and
works in close collaboration with the staff there to meet needs of patients within the community.
